Sarabia Family, Loon, Bohol

Marissa’s mother is from Loon (pronounced “lew-on”), Bohol, and since we were going to SouthWestern Bohol for one of our honeymoon stops, we stopped by Loon to visit Marissa’s Uncle Donie and Aunt Flory.

The Church of Our Lady Of Light is the largest church in Bohol, and was constructed around 1803, replacing a previous chapel on the same spot built some 50 years previous, in 1753. The church seemed to be perfectly symmetrical. This photo was taken, a few minutes after 6 PM, just after sunset, on a 4-second exposure. Marissa is in the group, closest to the camera, squatting in green blouse with nephew Joan.
