The Top, Cebu
The view from The Top covers all of Cebu, and you can actually see all of Mactan Island as well. The top is only 15 to 20 minutes from downtown Cebu if you have a taxi driver who knows how to use his lower gears. The day we were there it was a bit cloudy, a haze overlaid the whole of Cebu and Mactan Island, substantially impairing visibility. I’ve heard the best view is at night.
There’s a bell at The Top that has 3 functions, two people clasp hands and ring the bell once to create a true partnership, twice to be best friends forever, and thrice to create eternal love between them. I was tempted to ring the bell 27 times, but that would have taken some explaining…so we just rang it three times.
